Face The World LogoPresident & C.E.O. of Vancouver's Army & Navy Department Stores, Jacqui Cohen and a few close friends started Face The World in 1991 in order to give something back to the city she called home. The intention then, as it remains today, is to provide the 'hands of hope' to the less fortunate members of our community. Through the generosity of many, Face The World Foundation has raised and disbursed close to $5,000 000 to many worthwhile groups and organizations. Every year Jacqui hosts a black tie gala at her waterfront residence. This star studded evening brings together a very generous group of sponsors, volunteers, friends and patrons who open up their hearts to help Face The World Foundation continue to improve the lives of those in need. Their 2012 Gala raised over one million dollars. Jim is a member of the Board of Directors of the Face the World Foundation.

Odd Squad LogoOdd Squad's vision is to design programs that honour and motivate youth, encourage them to set positive goals, lay their own path and stay On Track by keeping drug-free for a long and healthy life. The mission is to educate the public about the devastating effects that high-risk behaviour has on members of our community. Today's youth face difficult choices, enormous peer pressure, and more readily available and potent mind-altering drugs, than at any other time in history. Odd Squad ascribes to the notion that 'an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure' and that drug prevention programs are a more cost-effective and healthier investment for youth than treatment. Through valuable and thought-provoking visual media tools, the Odd Squad organization brings its mission to life. Their fundraising allows educational presentations, crime prevention programs, peer-to-peer mentoring workshops, and the production of award-winning documentary films. Having first partnered with the National Film Board of Canada for 'Through A Blue Lens' (1999), Odd Squad has continued to produce numerous, hard-hitting, educational documentaries. Jim performs fundraising concerts on a regular basis for the Odd Squad.
